How do walk-in bathtubs with wide doors improve senior mobility?

A wider walk-in bathtub door can make stepping into the tub and reaching the seat easier. The clear opening, threshold height, door swing and seat position matter more than the advertised exterior width. A wide door does not automatically make a tub wheelchair accessible. For a seated transfer, compare a purpose-designed transfer model and have the intended user and installer check the fit. Ask for the exact dimensions before comparing installation prices.
